Corporate Isn’t an Upgrade — 16 Brutal Truths I Learned the Hard Way

Total word count – 330 words.

PS: People from IIMs, IITs, or Tier 1 won’t like it. Guess what? You are familiar! Fu*k it anyways.

MBA = Messiah syndrome – They believe a ₹25 lakh degree is the solution to every problem. It’s not.

Zero cross-functional sync – One team builds, the other proudly destroys. I’ve seen uniquely addressable issues that can be fixed, like blink.

Prestige leads, performance on fire – They chase top degrees, then blame you for not delivering amid chaos.

Trends? What trends? – They still believe old advertising works.

Skills are secondary – “IIM + clueless = promoted” is a real equation. Out of 7 people, I found 2 super crazy minds. The others were all, “I’m from IIM” and that kind of shit.

Meetings > Output – Endless decks, 10% direction.

Blind hiring – Fancy college? You’re in. Actual skills? HR will ghost you. I know at least 3 people in the current corporate team who add “ZERO” revenue, with an average pay of 30 LPA.

Culture of survival, not success – Everyone’s just trying not to get blamed.

Bureaucracy kills speed – Approvals need more layers than your birthday cake.

Ego over ecosystem – People fight to look right, not do right.

Good work is invisible – Loud ones win, doers drown.

Exit interviews = Fake confessions – People lie — a lot, actually. Be it GM, AGM, HEAD, or any colleague, I’m going to fire shots at my farewell.

Feedback is a farce – You’ll only hear from them when something’s wrong.

Purpose is missing – Everyone’s burning out for slides no one reads. If X brand is selling, why can’t we? You piece of shit — where’s your innovation?

Innovation is feared – “We’ve always done it this way” is their Bible. No wonder new-gen brands are a pain in their a**hole.

Toxic silence – Speak up and you’re labeled “not a team player.” Yet everyone knows what’s right and wrong — they just need their monthly paycheck for EMIs.

Your thoughts matter.
